Established in 2023, False German Consuls Collaborate with CJNG

Would you trust Ursula Koos?

Ursula Koos has no verifiable background or history in social media apart from a post from a university in Africa years ago. The next moment, she appears in Mexico as German consul.

The earliest online mention of Ursula Koos, the German Consul in Mexico City, appears to be from June 2023. Before that date, we see only one Facebook post from a University in Kenia. The post is an attempt to increase her footprint and credibility, but obviously one post only in the career of a diplomat rather confirms any suspicion than gives credibility.

What else is suspicious about her?

In a news article from Quinta Fuerza w, he is quoted as “cónsul de Alemania en la Ciudad de México” during a European consuls’ meeting in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo. First, Mexico City has no consul but an ambassador in the embassy. Quintana Roo has a dedicated consul, and with that, it makes no sense at all to see Ursula there.

What other events or meetings did Ursula Koos attend?

A news article from Aguascalientes in Mexico claims Ursula Koos has met officials of the state to announce that German companies will start to have vacancies for mature people, the elderly. For a brief moment, that might appear like a noble gesture before you realize such news would be political suicide.  A confession that the economy of the state is terrible: the elderly are forced to work to feed themselves, and the best solution is a foreign company hiring these grandparents. Would  Audi proudly show a granny operating industrial equipment when it would be obvious that all she wants is to live another day?

The picture has no dimensions – background, flags, and people are glued together. On the left side, ide you see an area that does not correspond with the rest of the photo. Important: the flag of the European Union. Flags give authority; more flags equals more authority. 10 years in Mexico, I cannot remember a European flag anywhere. In fake news,s the flag is a typical detail.

For this article, Ursula Koos is now being accused of fabricating fake news to support her career as consul. According to the accusation, her status as a diplomat is also false and fabricated. The accusation was formally accepted by Fiscalía General de República de México. Read the full accusation here.

The German Embassy in México appears to have lost control of its operations?

A complete deepfakeof the Website’s Embassy was discovered, disguised as a travel blog but with a domain that leaves no doubt about the intention: .

The website appears innocent, and that is on purpose. With a click, a new theme gets applied,d and the website deepfake is ready for deployment. On LinkedIn, we noticed the Germany Embassy in Mexico page and the activities of the employees empathically posting and sharing news related to diplomatic topics. Business as usual? Not really. The Embassy has no official LinkedIn page. I guess the embassy can establish contact with key decision-makers quite easily without the need for LinkedIn and its costly premium subscription.

Employees of the embassy are, for the most part, public servants. LinkedIn has very little to offer for them, and with that, we got particularly interested in those employees mastering LinkedIn like a pro. On Feb 19, we saw 38 profiles of embassy employees. We updated our profile, starting a career as “Head of Security & Fraud Prevention”.

We proudly shared and celebrated the news with the community and started to network with our new colleagues. As we requested to connect, employees preferred to disconnect, and 35 profiles were deleted within days.
